Emails like this are always difficult to send out to loyalty members, and they did a pretty good job outlining all the changes to the program. There is a lot of text in this note – just like a formal letter that would have been printed and sent via snail mail to the member, only[…]
Good follow-up email to the one announcing the 30-day cutover time period earlier this month. Also better to under promise and over deliver on transition given how many different things could go wrong or hold up forward progress. I might offer up miles for a “bug bounty,” giving loyalists the opportunity to point out issues[…]
My guess is that consumers/loyalists are responding well to the direction of the new brand imagery! Fun, edgy and very approachable – completely in-keeping with the brand positioning and tone. And this one with a good, charitable tie-in. Only thing is the five miles of legal copy that severely weighs this email down. Would suggest[…]
This is a good reminder about the merger between American and US Airways and their corresponding loyalty programs. A lot of time passed, however, between October and March, and perhaps they could have considered monthly updates or small info/edutainment pieces to engage members of both groups. And while this email has quite a bit of[…]
Clever graphics are in-keeping with the tongue-in-cheek tone of Virgin Airline’s emails. Also a great play to stay relevant with a younger, digital audience. Not sure why all the terms and conditions have to be listed and can’t be linked…Makes an otherwise very clean email very long and somewhat tedious, especially on mobile.
Cool promotional offer from Virgin, with a 20% off coupon just for entering. The prize is amazing, and completely in-keeping with Virgin’s brand positioning and tone. Perhaps they could have had a “refer-a-friend” feature that helps with recruitment by offering additional contest entries from friend-get-friend signups.
Nice attempt from the Rewards Network via Southwest Airlines to prompt members to purchase during a promotional time window from retail partners. Not sure what kind of response this got, but in my experience it definitely creates a short-term spike in points earn/usage. Great use of partners within close proximity of my home address as[…]
I liked all the options that they outlined in this email for keeping your account active. In one email you have links and tips to all the ways to reactivate, very effective.
These are great emails: brand-right with good tone and great imagery. I think they could do a better job of recognizing that I am in fact an elevate program member in the upper right header. Did you notice the landmark tattoos on the lady’s arm in the foreground? Pretty edgy without overly so. On the[…]
There’s nothing special about this email other than the fact that they used such an odd discount percentage, which I’m certain increased open rates/readership of the email (it worked for me).
